Why have a music journal?
To track and document progress
To analyze practice motivation
To track how much time it takes to learn something ———> so that you can allocate enough time and be realistic when organizing your schedule.
Daily entries should have details such as:
• The date and time
• Specific areas you practice, for how long, and the number of repetitions
• The challenges you’re experiencing and their possible solutions
• New things you learn about yourself and music
I experimented keeping a practice journal for the month of December 2021 and I was shocked how effective it is.
For every session, bring it along, so you have a place to note down ideas and encourage your thought process.
For song writing and lyrics it is especially good.
For keeping up with all the details of your guitars and gear it is amazing
I decided to use a blog website with unlimited photo uploads - since I want to be able to upload Rocksmith scores and screenshots of information I am accumulating on various learning projects.
The website host I chose is Simplesite.
